This morning we have decamped to Gold Beach. Just like any other apart from the remains of one of the greatest logistical and bloody scenes of modern history.
All I can hear is the sea. There is no advertisements, amusement parks, sun hats or camper vans.
It's just there, with all its power and might. And mighty it is. It's vast. For most landing here those 79 years ago, 24 hours previously they would have been waiting in camp somewhere in the UK, with tea, and without a clue what was about to happen.
